The JAZZ HOUSE is excited to launch the Jazz Academy @ Trinity Commons, welcoming instrumental students of all levels and abilities, from beginners to advanced. The Academy is a comprehensive two-day experience into the world of jazz. Emerging musicians will receive small group lessons, extensive training in live ensemble playing, big band performance, theory + technique and history + culture. Learn the language of improvisation through small combo playing and being on the bandstand with friends.

Gettin’ into the swing of things! We are excited to launch the Jazz House Academy @ Trinity Commons, welcoming instrumental students of all levels and abilities, from beginners to advance. The Academy is a comprehensive two-day experience into the world of jazz. Emerging musicians will receive small group lessons, extensive training in the art of big band performance, live ensemble playing, theory + technique, and history + culture. Big band repertoire will include a wide variety of intricate arrangements and music from legendary jazz composers. Guest artist masterclasses will take our emerigng artists on a cultural journey of this uniquely American art form coming from the African-American experience and now celebrated arond the world.

The JAZZ ICONS series at Trinity Church presents free Sunday afternoon concerts that feature brilliant, world-renowned practitioners of the jazz tradition. A joint effort between Trinity and JAZZ HOUSE NYC, these concerts are curated by nine-time GRAMMY Award-winning bassist and JAZZ HOUSE Artistic Director CHRISTIAN MCBRIDE and jazz vocalist MELISSA WALKER, president and founder of JAZZ HOUSE KiDS.

NOVICE MUSIC PROGRAM
UNLOCKING THE JOY OF MUSIC!
We remove barriers that stand in the way of students’ participation in an authentic jazz education and their resulting growth and joy in a safe, fun and welcoming environment. Our Novice Music Program at Trinity Commons provides access to a new loaner instrument, access to small group lessons and weekly ensemble experience.
