JAZZ HOUSE KiDS R.S. Berkeley Musician of Distinction Award
Supported by an exceptional instrument maker, R.S. Berkeley Musical Instruments, and its president, Les Silver, the JAZZ HOUSE KiDS R.S. Berkeley Musician of Distinction Award is granted each year to two young musicians. Awardees participate in either our Jazz House Kids Music Club in-school programs or our weekly programs at the Jazz House in downtown Montclair.
These merit- and need-based awards are given to outstanding emerging musicians who demonstrate leadership, musicianship, creativity and dedication to excellence. Each of the winners receives a brand new, professional-level musical instrument, along with a year of mentoring from a Jazz House Kids professional musician. Our goal is to assist serious-minded young players in the pursuit of their music.
