The new JAZZ HOUSE NYC, part of the Trinity Youth Afterschool program, will expand access to free musical training and jazz education in small and large group ensembles; improvisation; novice programs for beginners (which will include use of a new instrument), jazz vocals, and African drumming. Classes will take place at Trinity Commons in lower Manhattan.


RHYTHMS MAKERS
Tuesdays: 3:30 – 4:30 pm
Learn how to play various hand percussion instruments including Djembe, Dundan and Congas. Here are just a few of the rhythms we will explore in the Drum Ensemble – West African, Cuban, Brazilian and Peruvian.

Weekly access to small group lessons are a key component for our student’s success on the bandstand. Once a student signs up for a music program at Trinity, they will be assigned to a weekly small group lesson.

SOULFUL VOICES

The dynamic Soulful Voices ensemble provides year-round choral training with an eclectic repertoire mix of musical styles from bebop to modern jazz to soul. Receive training in vocal technique and choral singing while exploring various genres of music.
