2021 SUMMER PROGRAMS

Welcome to SUMMER at the JAZZ HOUSE! For more than 18 years, JAZZ HOUSE KiDS has brought award-winning programming that engages and excites students, promotes harmony and collaboration and builds musicianship. This summer promises to be no different as we come back together for in-person classes! The JAZZ HOUSE welcomes instrumental and vocal students of all levels, ages 12 to 18, from beginners to pre-professionals headed to the nation’s stop college music programs.

JUNE 7 – JULY 23

JOiN US for weekly small ensembles featuring the compositions of Jazz’s iconic composers! Immerse yourself in the music of these legendary composers and learn the improvised language they used to create their unique sound. Continue to develop YOUR musical voice with our online electives in composition, film scoring, recording + production, drum shed and so much more! IN PERSON and online ensembles available.

SUMMER WORKSHOP

AUGUST 2-7 + AUGUST 9-14

AWARD-WINNING WORKSHOP is back on the campus of Montclair State University IN PERSON! Each one-week intensive session immerses students in the art of jazz performance and helps them become well-rounded musicians through masterclasses, workshops, ensemble performances and jam sessions with professional musicians.We welcome students to register for both weeks, however each in-person session has a reduced capacity limit. Students who register for both sessions will be wait-listed for the 2nd week until June 1 to give all interested students a chance to participate.

ADULT SUMMER CLASSES

JAZZ HOUSE KiDS Summer Programming for ADULT instrumentalists of all levels. YOUR INNER MUSICIAN IS CALLING YOU! IN-PERSON + ONLINE OFFERINGS, two adult ensembles: improv core classes for beginners and advaned students. Four weekly online deep -dive electives: Music Production, Film Scoring, Drum Shed, and more!
