COVID-19 PROTOCOLS: WE CARE ABOUT YOUR SAFETY!
Summer Sessions
Each 90-minute in-person session will adhere to the highest safety protocols recommended by current CDC and State of New Jersey Department of Health guidelines, including:
- Student temperatures taken upon entering the building
- All students are required to wear face coverings and/or INSTRUMENT FACE MASKS
- Smaller class sizes to allow for social distancing
- Frequent use of hand sanitizer recommended
- All students positioned six feet apart at a minimum
- BELL COVERS required + saxophone bags suggested
- Classrooms thoroughly sanitized between sessions
Classes will be held at the JAZZ HOUSE Annex, a spacious facility at 353 Bloomfield Avenue in Montclair, NJ that will allow for safe social distancing. (and great acoustics!)

Summer Workshop

The in-person JAZZ HOUSE SUMMER WORKSHOP will also adhere to the highest safety protocols recommended by current CDC and State of New Jersey Department of Health guidelines, including:

- All students will be positioned six feet apart at a minimum
- Frequent use of hand sanitizer recommended
- BELL COVERS REQUIRED + saxophone bags suggested
- Classrooms thoroughly sanitized between sessions
Day Campers: COVID-19 PCR Test Required
Montclair State University will require all non-residential youth day campers, including all JAZZ HOUSE Summer Workshop students, to provide proof of a negative COVID-19 PCR test prior to the first day. The safety of all our students is our top priority, and COVID-19 PCR tests are now widely available.
Residential Campers: Vaccine Required
*Vaccine Required for Residential Campers: All JAZZ HOUSE students who wish to reside in the MSU dorms the first week, must be 16 years or up and fully vaccinated for COVID-19
Vaccine Appointments Available for our Local Students
We believe that the COVID-19 vaccination offers the best path forward for all of us to return safely to the vibrant, fully-accessible activities we all love. Vaccinations are now widely available, and to date, everyone ages 12 and up is eligible for the vaccine. We are encouraging all of our students to get vaccinated as soon as possible.
- We have an opportunity through Hackensack Meridian Mountainside Medical Center in Montclair for JAZZ HOUSE parents to schedule appointments for their children ages 12-17. Slots are available as soon as next week. Please visit the vaccine appointment page to schedule.
- Parents/Guardians can complete the registration form at the link and the hospital’s scheduling team will then call to set up an appointment. Children must be accompanied by a parent or guardian for the appointment.
