Trinity After School Program

The new JAZZ HOUSE @ Trinity offering at Trinity Youth After School will expand access to free musical training and jazz education in small and large group ensembles; improvisation; novice programs for beginners, which will include use of a new instrument; jazz vocals and African drumming.

RHYTHMS MAKERS

Mondays: 3:30 – 4:30 pm
Learn how to play various hand percussion instruments including Djembe, Dundan and Congas. Here are just a few of the rhythms we will explore in the Drum Ensemble – West African, Cuban, Brazilian and Peruvian.

SOULFUL VOICES

Thursdays: 3:30 – 5:00 pm
The dynamic Soulful Voices ensemble provides year-round choral training with an eclectic repertoire mix of musical styles from bebop to modern jazz to soul. Receive training in vocal technique and choral singing while exploring various genres of music.

BEGINNER INSTRUMENTAL

TUESDAY + THURSDAYS

5:00 – 6:00 pm (BEGINNER ENSEMBLE)
Learn how to play an instrument! This exciting program includes three components: a loaner instrument to kickstart your musical journey, access to weekly small group lessons and jazz ensemble experience.

SMALL GROUP LESSONS

Tuesday + Thursday: 3:30 – 4:30 pm (Intermediate / Advanced)
Weekly access to small group lessons are a key component for our student’s success on the bandstand. Once a student signs up for a music program at Trinity, they will be assigned to a weekly small group lesson.
