The Louis Prima and Gia Maione Prima Jazz Scholarship Fund was established in 2016. It honors the life and legacy of the legendary swing bandleader Louis Prima and his wife, vocalist Gia Maione Prima and their commitment to music education. Year-round programming through Jazz House Kids includes in-school programs in struggling school districts, music classes and ensemble rehearsals, and music lessons at the Jazz House. Jazz House Kids serves over 1,000 students each year with more than 35% in need of scholarship support, and urban schools in need of vital arts programming. Additionally, the nationally recognized Jazz House Summer Workshop helps reduce summer learning loss in preparation for the academic year.
