JAZZ HOUSE KiDS brings top-flight artists and tested programs right into schools, where we collaborate with teachers and administrators to create robust, exciting, and authentic jazz instruction for their students. Our work in schools is a central chord of our mission to bridge the artistic gap and give students of all ages, backgrounds, and abilities access to a first-class music education.
JAZZ HOUSE KiDS is the only community arts organization in New Jersey exclusively dedicated to educating children through jazz: America’s home-grown art form. At the JAZZ HOUSE, we ensure that every student has access to music, education, mentoring, and apprenticeship.
Led by JAZZ HOUSE KiDS’ Artistic Chair and 5-time GRAMMY Award-winning bassist Christian McBride, the Inside the Jazz Note Masterclass® is an action-packed full day for school jazz bands, filled with music, stories, and a Q&A session.
The Jazz Across the Curriculum Teacher Workshop is an in-service session that provides educators across all academic disciplines with strategies for using jazz as an effective teaching tool in their classrooms.
